Membership Levels

Professional Membership Categories - Includes both 'Sports RD' and 'Allied Healthcare' member types

Sports RD Membership

  • Eligibility: Holds the Registered Dietitian (RD) credential or an international equivalent. Currently works in an athletic, tactical, industry, or entrepreneurial setting.
  • Classifications: Based on years of professional employment in the sports and performance nutrition field. This can include a high school or collegiate athletic department, professional sports team, Olympic/Paralympic/NGB, or tactical setting.
    • Qualified: 2 or fewer years of sports and performance nutrition experience
    • Experienced: 3–6 years of sports and performance nutrition experience
    • Veteran: 7 or more years of sports and performance nutrition experience

Allied Healthcare Membership

  • Eligibility: Currently working in an academic or clinical setting, or in a related allied health field such as athletic training or strength and conditioning. Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is not required.

 Student Membership

  • Eligibility: Currently enrolled in undergraduate or master's-level graduate dietetics programs or dietetic internships, or pursuing an allied health care field related to athletics or nutrition.
  • Note: This membership is intended for individuals who do not yet hold the Registered Dietitian (RD) credential.
